Volunteer with us

(after the pandemic)

You may opt to donate time and energy by volunteering at our Science and Nature Center classroom – we always have loads of projects from working in the garden, cleaning animal habitats, yard work, volunteering at public events and festivals (when those happen again), etc. so if you like to get your hands dirty for a good cause then just contact us at earthshine.nature@gmail.com or call Steve at (828) 606-8939 to set up a time to give us a hand around the classroom/farm (after the pandemic).

Our Wish List

Our current needs are as follows:

Item # 1 - A Mini Camper.

For 2020 and beyond, one of our newest and most unique needs is a small camper.  Due to the pandemic making us unable to safely present our outreach programming in a traditional indoor classroom setting, we are exploring new ways of conducting our outreach programming outside of the classroom.  Therefore, we have decided to work to create a self-contained mobile environmental outreach classroom.  To make this a reality for our programming we are looking for a hardshell, lightweight, mini-camper to use as the framework for our unique mobile classroom.  Once we find a camper we will outfit it with animal habitats for our education animals,  a microscope station, an awning which would fold down and double as a movie projector and screen, and solar modules (panels) on the roof to power everything with clean energy.  A camper donation of any size or age will be considered but our preference would be one we could pull behind our outreach EV such as the smallest versions of the Scamp, Casita, Lil Snoozy, Happier Camper, or MeerKat mini-campers similar to the unit pictured below.

If you have one of these or a similar unit that is sitting in your driveway or yard just taking up space – please consider donating it to ENP and we will be sure to put it to good use as a roving nature and wildlife conservation, and renewable energy education classroom that will benefit all of our outreach program participants on the road at schools, camps, festivals, and all of our Trails Carolina and Trails Momentum students.

Item #2: Ego Leaf Blower

We are in need of a leaf blower to keep the leaves and pine needles under control in our classroom's middle of the forest setting.  We have chosen the Ego brand as our first choice due to its rugged build and the fact that it can be powered by renewably produced electricity which we have in abundance from our student-built solar array.

Find this unit on Amazon via this link.

Item #3: Ego Chainsaw

Our classroom is in the forest and we often have the necessity to remove hazardous trees/limbs as well as when bad weather threatens we need to cut trees out of the road to and from our classroom and the rest of civilization.  The Ego chainsaw would be our first choice to meet this need due to the same reasons we like the Ego leafblower - and their batteries are interchangeable.

The Ego chainsaw may be found on Amazon via this link.

Compound Microscope

This scope will be connected to our flat-screen TV allowing the entire class to view what it is viewing. It will open up the microscopic world to our students in a very interactive way that will stimulate curiosity and plant some seeds of science.  Find this microscope on Amazon via this link.

More Great Ways You May Support Us

 Support Us Through Amazon

You could also access our Amazon wish list by searching for the Earthshine Nature Programs Wish List on Amazon or by visiting this tinyURL link: https://tinyurl.com/yahlsvnp

Another easy way to support us is through Amazon Smile donations. Simply visit: smile.amazon.com and sign up to support Earthshine Nature Programs.  Then, every time you make a purchase on Amazon using your smile.amazon.com account, a portion of Amazon’s profits will be donated to ENP at no cost to you!

The Legacy Gift

A new way to support us is with a Legacy Gift.  This is a gift from you to Earthshine Nature Programs when you pass.  It could be monetary, land, or even a vehicle donation.

If you choose a monetary donation you could leave it as a general gift we would then be able to use where it was most needed, or you could assign a specific use to it such as education, habitat construction, or special projects such as the completion of Phase Three of our Classroom Solar Array Project.

If a land donation, and if the parcel has useable structures upon it, we may opt to use the structures to expand our outreach programming or simply sell it to support our organization.  If the land is undeveloped and valuable as wildlife habitat we may choose to preserve the land in your name (if you so choose) as a conservation easement and, if close to our area of operations, it would become an educational study site for our outreach programming and wildlife conservation activities.

If you choose to donate a vehicle we would either choose to sell to raise funds to support our organization or, if your vehicle is 100% electric such as a Chevrolet Bolt, Nissan Leaf, or Tesla, it would be very useful to us so we may choose to put it into service as a company vehicle and use it in our wildlife rescue, renewable energy, and electric vehicle outreach education programming in the local and regional communities.

Either way, your choice to make your Legacy Gift to Earthshine Nature Programs would have a lasting and valuable impact upon our ability to bring our nature, wildlife conservation, and science literacy message to the hundreds of young naturalists, scientists, and thinkers we encounter each year via our outreach programming and through our partnership with Trails Carolina and Trails Momentum where Steve works as a naturalist.

Yes, it really is that easy to support us!

THANK YOU SO MUCH

Without your continued support, Earthshine Nature Programs would not function.  Please consider making a tax-deductible donation of any size, end of the year donation, or legacy gift to us now and in the future.  Earthshine Nature Programs is a 501c3, donation-funded, volunteer owned and operated, wildlife conservation and rehabilitation, environmental stewardship, and science education charity organization.
