Patrolling for sea turtles!
Joined up with the SCDNR and cruised the beaches of Botany Bay WMA on ATV in search of nesting sea turtles--found two new nests and many false crawls.May 4th, 2011
John Rucker and his Turtledogs returned to the area today to help me search for the missing Mr. Bones. Although we searched for an entire day we did not locate the elusive turtle. Blame it on the cool weather or bad luck but the sly old Bones has eluded us again.

Searched for Hellbenders in the French Broad River with the NCWRC--no luck due to recent rains and heavy trout fishing pressure.

Attended an Iron Age Fire workshop at the Schele Museum of Natural History presented by Steve Watts.
Karen saw Rose coming out of her winter sleep to check out the warm spring days.

Captured a sick feral cat and took to vet for check up.

Went Spotted Salamander hunting today with Alan Cameron. No adult salamanders found.

Went Spotted Salamander hunting tonight in a deep forest shrouded in a dense fog. Saw a couple of Mole Salamanders and some Spotted Salamander egg masses but no adult salamanders.

Went Salamander hunting today with Alan Cameron. We searched several remote sites in Cedar Mountain today for Endangered Green Salamanders and found 4 total--a great day!

Went Salamander hunting today with Alan Cameron. We were looking for Spotted and Mole Salamanders--found 3 Moles and a few Spotted egg masses!
