King is a male Eastern Kingsnake. He was found by Steve's nephew Cody many years ago. Kingsnakes are called "King" because they are immune to the venom of rattlesnakes and copperheads and will eat them for lunch if given the chance. Kingsnakes are seldom seen but they are an integral part of a healthy ecosystem and a very beautiful creature indeed. Come see King at the Earthshine nature Center in 2010!

Remember when you visit Earthshine to ask about how you can meet King and his friends:-)
